Job Description

Mitchell Plastics is an award-winning and growing Company. Our key strength is that we offer our world-wide Automotive Customers a single source alternative for all of their interior automotive plastic part needs.

As an Employer, we offer an exciting opportunity for you to be part of our growing, "Best- In- Class" Team, in the automotive industry today. We believe that our people are what makes us great and strive to offer our employees opportunities for advancement.

We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Shift Supervisor. Reporting directly to the Plant or Production Manager, you will be the tactical leader on your shift—organizing resources, empowering teams, and ensuring our products are built safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
If you are a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to build a positive, high-performing team culture, we want you on our team.

A. Duties & Responsibilities
• Reporting & Execution: Report directly to the Plant Manager or Production Manager. Take full responsibility for organizing all assigned resources to produce high-quality products according to the current production schedule.
• Schedule Variance Management: Maintain real-time awareness of any deviations from the current schedule. Take immediate, appropriate corrective action to fix shortfalls, and proactively advise the Plant Manager and Scheduler if resolutions exceed your authority or available resources.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all produced parts strictly meet approved "First-off" specifications and conform to established quality standards. Verify that all processes remain stable and operate within the tolerances outlined in the QIR.
• Off-Shift Leadership: Direct and oversee all personnel during off-shifts. Assign, organize, and manage resources flexibly to support overriding production priorities, while ensuring all shift production report forms are filled out accurately.
• Shop-Floor Culture & Housekeeping: Provide the dynamic leadership needed on the shop floor to ensure high productivity, strong team morale, and top-tier safety. Maintain a consistently high standard of housekeeping at all times, act as a key driver for continuous improvement changes, and ensure only fully trained individuals are assigned to work cells or plant duties.
• HR Partnership & Workforce Management: Work closely with the Plant/Production Manager and Human Resource Manager to ensure appropriate skills are being hired, robust training is conducted, and proper disciplinary actions are taken to control absenteeism and unacceptable conduct.
• Process Enforcement: Rigorously enforce all required corporate procedures for Quality Assurance, Inventory Control, and Production Control.
• Asset Maintenance: Ensure all required preventive maintenance protocols are rigorously carried out on tools and equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.

B. Minimum Qualifications
• 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).

C. Required Skills
• Material Literacy: Strong understanding of manufacturing materials and their properties.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot bottlenecks and resolve operational issues under pressure.
• Systems Compliance: Solid understanding of key Quality and Environmental Management Systems procedures related to the job function.
• Documentation Control: Thorough knowledge of the forms, tags, and labels governing plant and job functions.

We thank all candidates for their interest, however only those who qualify for an interview will be contacted. #joinmitchellplastics
