The Production Scheduling Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production schedules to ensure company goals are achieved on time without compromising quality or performance. This role requires deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The Production Scheduling Manager works closely with production, supply chain, warehouse, quality, and sales teams to align schedules with demand, material availability, and operational capacity. They play a critical role in ensuring efficient workflow, resolving production challenges, and driving continuous improvement.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned to demand
  • Optimize workflow across production areas to maximize efficiency and output
  • Adjust schedules in real time based on performance, material availability, and priorities
  • Leverage ERP and scheduling systems to drive accuracy and visibility

Execution & Performance Management

  • Ensure production meets deadlines while maintaining quality standards
  • Monitor key metrics (output, open orders, on-time delivery, lead times)
  • Prioritize and resolve past-due and high-priority (HOT) work orders
  • Identify root causes of delays and drive corrective actions

Material & Resource Coordination

  • Align schedules with material availability and capacity constraints
  • Partner with supply chain, warehouse, and quality to prevent disruptions
  • Monitor shortages and supplier timelines; escalate risks as needed

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Communicate schedules, risks, and priorities across production and leadership teams
  • Provide clear, data-driven reporting on performance and constraints
  • Collaborate with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing to align plans

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Anticipate and resolve production issues and constraints
  • Adjust plans and reallocate resources to maintain flow
  • Identify and implement improvements in scheduling, workflow, and material flow

Core Requirements & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling and manufacturing operations
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High level of organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Experience with ERP and scheduling systems (e.g., Preactor, JDE)
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and adapt quickly
