Production Scheduler – CD Switchgear Assembly
Location: Siemens Kalwa (Thane)
The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning and controlling daily and monthly production schedules for CD Switchgear Assembly lines, ensuring seamless coordination between material availability, supplier deliveries, production capacity, and customer demand.
The role ensures timely availability of purchase parts, optimal line loading, backlog elimination, and delivery reliability above 90%, while maintaining high operational efficiency and alignment with Siemens manufacturing excellence standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with confirmed customer demand and monthly production plans.
• Plan and allocate assembly line capacity across multiple CD switchgear product variants to maximize throughput.
• Ensure balanced line loading across assembly lines to avoid bottlenecks and idle capacity.
• Prioritize production based on customer commitments, delivery dates, and urgency requirements.
• Monitor schedule adherence and implement corrective actions when deviations occur.
2. Purchase Parts Availability & Material Coordination:
• Ensure 100% availability of purchased components and subassemblies required for scheduled production.
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, warehouse, and vendor-managed inventory partners to avoid line stoppages.
• Monitor shortage reports, open purchase orders, and supplier confirmations to proactively mitigate material risks.
• Track critical components and long lead-time materials to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
• Implement digital material tracking and bin visibility systems where applicable.
3. Assembly Line Scheduling & Execution:
• Schedule all CD assembly lines based on capacity, takt time, and workforce availability.
• Optimize scheduling to support high-volume production targets and ramp-up requirements.
• Coordinate closely with production supervisors and line leaders to ensure daily plan execution.
• Monitor daily output vs plan and adjust schedules dynamically to maintain target achievement.
4. Backlog Management
• Maintain zero production backlog by continuously tracking open production orders.
• Prioritize backlog clearance while ensuring alignment with customer delivery commitments.
• Analyze root causes of backlog such as material shortages, capacity constraints, or quality issues.
• Implement proactive scheduling adjustments to prevent backlog accumulation.
5. Delivery Reliability & Customer Commitment
• Achieve and sustain delivery reliability above 90% for CD switchgear products.
• Align production schedules with customer delivery dates and dispatch planning.
• Coordinate with logistics and dispatch teams to ensure timely shipment readiness.
• Provide accurate delivery forecasts and schedule commitments to internal stakeholders.
6. Data Analysis & Reporting
• Track and analyze key performance indicators including Delivery Reliability (OTIF), Production Plan Adherence, Backlog Status, Capacity Utilization, and Material Shortages.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning dashboards for management review.
• Identify opportunities to improve production planning efficiency and inventory utilization.
7. Cross‑Functional Coordination
• Collaborate with procurement teams for purchase part tracking.
• Work with production teams for line capacity planning.
• Coordinate with quality teams for issue resolution.
• Align with logistics teams for dispatch planning.
• Ensure alignment between demand planning, production execution, and supplier commitments.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
• 10-15 years of experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing Scheduling, or Supply Chain Coordination
Preferred Experience
• Experience in switchgear or electrical equipment manufacturing
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, or Pull Systems
• Exposure to digital manufacturing tools or advanced planning systems (APS)
