Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Production Scheduler for our Shawnee, KS site.

This role translates the site's Master Production Schedule (MPS) into a detailed, executable production schedule — generating and sequencing work orders so that Argenta's Shawnee manufacturing operations run efficiently, on time, and in compliance with GMP requirements. Working closely with the Customer Supply Planner and shop floor management, this role balances capacity, materials, and labor to minimize downtime, resolve day-to-day scheduling conflicts, and keep production aligned with customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and release Work Orders in SAP/ERP, ensuring the correct Process Instructions and Batch Records are issued to Production, Packaging, and Warehouse teams in line with the Master Production Schedule.
  • Develop and maintain the detailed daily/weekly production schedule, sequencing work orders in line with SIOP capacity planning and the 18-month MPS maintained by the Customer Supply Planner.
  • Coordinate with Production and shop floor management to align schedules with equipment availability, labor capacity, and changeover/cleaning requirements.
  • Monitor production progress against schedule, proactively identifying and communicating risks, delays, material shortages, or priority changes.
  • Adjust and re-sequence schedules in response to constraints, escalating significant capacity or supply issues to the Customer Supply Planner and site leadership.
  • Ensure Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters are accurate and that raw materials, components, and packaging are available to support the production schedule; flag shortages to the Customer Supply Planner and Procurement.
  • Run “what-if” scenarios to optimize the production schedule from both a manufacturing and supply chain perspective.
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly and promptly to Production, Quality, Warehouse/Logistics, and Procurement.
  • Track and report schedule-related KPIs (on-time delivery, schedule adherence, utilization) and support root-cause analysis of schedule misses.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the production process and recommend workflow or process improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and enhancements to planning systems and processes, including performing system checks, tests, and developing reports.
  • Comply with all Argenta company, local, and global policies, including cGMP requirements.

About You:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Bachelors degree Business, Supply Chain & Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience in production scheduling, planning, or production supervision within a manufacturing environment; pharmaceutical/GMP experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative abilities.
  • Thorough attention to detail, without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks, working accurately and within strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable coordinating across Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Determination to see jobs through to completion.
