Core Responsibilities:

  • Efficient preparation of the detailed production schedule for the mill using of SAP and MES systems and ensuring a balanced production mix for downstream processes.
  • Create a schedule for the HRM using material in the bar yard, along with material arriving from vendors to create an efficient schedule for both the HRM and Finishing department under the Senior Hot Mill Scheduler.
  • Create a schedule for the Finishing Lines, Quench and Temper, the Saw, and the Thread shop using the material in IMS and upcoming off the HRM under the Senior Finishing Scheduler.
  • Continuously communicate with operations, quality, and supply chain team members to report and respond to any potential problems and resolve any issues related to production quickly.
  • Perform independent schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning; facilitate the resolution of material shortages, backlogs, and other existing or potential schedule interruptions.
  • Manage & monitor production schedules, identifying any problems & driving proper actions to achieve production targets.
  • Provide daily/ weekly analysis on the following critical metrics; on-time production, material availability, capacity constraints, production constraints, and workarounds.
  • Maintain and evolve procedures and systems as needed in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Involved in Continuous improvement of master data accuracy within SAP and MES to improve the accuracy of planning functions.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related course of study preferred or an equivalent combination of college and/or work experience.
  • Two or more years of professional experience in a production planning and scheduling role preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP Production Planning Module preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, within the planning team and cross functional groups.
  • Ability to coordinate production activities and goals with other departments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to make decisive, thoughtful, and logical decisions.
  • Must be a self-starter, identifying open issues and working resolve.
  • Must be able to manage stress in a high pace environment.
