Job Description

The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling production activities within the production teams (i.e. press, folding, gluing and etc.) to ensure efficient workflow, on-time order completion, and optimal use of equipment and labor. This role works closely with customer service, production supervisors, and purchasing to prioritize jobs, monitor production progress, and adjust schedules as needed to meet customer delivery commitments.

Qualifications

Production Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-range production schedules.
  • Sequence manufacturing orders to maximize machine efficiency while minimizing changeover time.
  • Balance production priorities based on customer due dates, capacity, labor availability, and material constraints.
  • Continuously adjust schedules to accommodate equipment downtime, staffing changes, rush orders, and unexpected production issues.
  • Monitor production progress throughout each shift and make real-time schedule adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain schedule accuracy within the ERP/MRP system.
Production Planning
  • Review customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Coordinate production requirements across multiple departments.
  • Ensure manufacturing schedules support company service level goals.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze workflow to improve throughput and reduce lead times.
Cross Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Customer Service regarding customer priorities and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure raw materials are available prior to production.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse personnel regarding inventory availability.
  • Communicate scheduling priorities to Production Supervisors and Leads.
  • Partner with Maintenance regarding planned downtime and equipment availability.
