Support shop floor production activities. Gather system data to generate production schedule based on material requirements. Analyze and update system minimum requirements to maintain appropriate stock levels. Generate the appropriate documentation, records, and reports. Perform daily cycle counts. Analyze, and resolve work order variances
Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):
1.
Review Sales Order Ship report and work with Customer service to determine work order priority and develop the production schedule….must plan to maximize utilization, minimize waste, and yield OTD of 98% or better
2.
Manage Firm-planned and Planned orders, or customer forecasts if available, to balance production workloads by work center in advance.
3.
Release production orders based on material availability. Work with purchasing to expedite materials or tooling as necessary.
4.
Work with Customer Service and the Ops team to respond expediently to Customer requests for Drop-ins and Pull-ins
5.
Work with Operations to identify capacity constraints and suggest possible solutions
6.
Schedule production orders of similar materials or processes to optimize efficiency whenever the schedule allows. Work with production leadership and employees to develop optimal scheduling strategy.
7.
Assure work orders are closed in an accurate manner with variances resolved and track issues identified
8.
Perform inventory checks as required
EDUCATION
BS degree preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE
5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong communication skills - written and verbal; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with MS Office platforms (Excel, Word, etc.)
Experience with ERP System using planning, work orders and inventory management
PREFERRED SKILLS
Scheduling knowledge, Automotive manufacturing experience, Lean Manufacturing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standard plant work environment, involves lifting moderately heavy items (over 25 and up to 50 pounds), and periods of standing and occasional ladder climbing in warehouse.
