Production Scheduler
Location: 225 Talbot Boulevard, Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $20 - $25/ hourly

The Dixon Group is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Production Scheduler to join our Dixon Specialty Products team in Chestertown, MD! In this role, you will play a critical part in keeping our manufacturing operations running smoothly—balancing customer demand, production capacity, and material availability to ensure on‑time delivery and operational efficiency.

This position is ideal for a professional with experience in a manufacturing environment who enjoys problem‑solving, collaboration, and working with cross‑functional teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and operational priorities
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to align schedules with capacity and demand
  • Monitor production progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts or constraints
  • Analyze material availability and inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production
  • Create and maintain factory orders, routings, and production documentation
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders to domestic and international vendors; ensure timely acknowledgment
  • Maintain vendor pricing and support supply chain accuracy
  • Utilize scheduling and ERP systems to track timelines, status, and performance metrics
  • Prepare production and scheduling reports for management review
  • Provide back‑up support to front desk operations as needed (phone and visitor reception)
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in production scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, or manufacturing operations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel required)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
