Location: Clayson Plant – 100 Clayson Road, Toronto, Ontario
Status: Full time (on-site), Salaried
Department: Supply Chain – Planning

The pay range for the role is $52,300 to $87,100 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Planning, the Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed production schedules that support efficient plant operations and high levels of customer service. This role works in close collaboration with Operations, Master Planning, and Supply Planning to balance capacity, materials availability, and customer demand while driving continuous improvement across scheduling and inventory processes.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in translating supply plans into executable production schedules, proactively identifying risks, communicating variances, and supporting data driven decision making within the manufacturing environment.
Key Accountabilities:
• Develop, publish, and maintain detailed short (daily/weekly) and mid term production schedules that optimize equipment utilization and align with plant capacity constraints.
• Communicate daily with operations to ensure adjustments are made as required to achieve in addition planners require to communicate schedule updates, risks, and recovery plans to cross functional stakeholders.
• Monitor schedule adherence and production attainment, analyze variances to plan, and clearly communicate performance gaps and recovery actions to stakeholders.
• Partner closely with Operations to support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling effectiveness, capacity optimization, and packaging procurement.
• Plan, order, and monitor raw materials and dry goods inventories required to support uninterrupted production.
• Coordinate and manage transfers of raw materials and dry goods from third party locations to the manufacturing site, ensuring timely availability and inventory accuracy.
• Collaborate with Supply Planning counterparts to ensure customer requirements are met on time while maintaining optimal service levels and inventory health.
• Analyze root causes of production shortfalls and service issues, identify corrective actions, and implement preventative measures to improve future schedule attainment.
• Track, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), escalating risks and performance gaps as required.
• Support ad hoc analysis, reporting, and cross functional projects in response to evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Competencies:
• Post secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of core supply chain and production planning concepts, including safety stock planning, MRP calculations, scheduling constraints, and bottleneck management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power BI, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement methodologies, or equivalent operational excellence frameworks.
• Prior experience working with ERP systems is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo, influence stakeholders, and drive meaningful change and results.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Highly developed analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills, with a proactive and detail oriented mindset.
