Job Summary
The Donut Team members are responsible for preparing, finishing, and decorating donuts in accordance with company recipes, quality standards, and production standards.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires dependability, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to safely operate bakery equipment while maintaining consistent quality. Team Members may work in multiple areas of the bakery and are expected to participate in cross-training to develop additional skills and support the needs of the department and the company.
Team members must be flexible with their schedules and may be required to work beyond eight hours when production needs require it.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Decorate and finish donuts according to established recipes, standards, and production requirements.
- Apply toppings, glazes, fillings, icing, and other decorations accurately and consistently.
- Inspects donuts for quality, appearance, size, and consistency.
- Operating ovens/mixers
- Monitoring baking times, temperatures, and product appearance to ensure consistent quality.
- Proper handling of equipment such as knives, cutters, and other sharp tools.
- Ability to follow production schedules, recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
- Maintain sanitation
- Following GMP and PPE policies
- Packaging
- Adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in cross-training and learn additional products, equipment, and responsibilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistency in taste and appearance.
- Demonstrates eagerness and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Required to work weekends and holidays when needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous commercial food production experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with commercial mixers, ovens, and high-volume production techniques preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Capability to perform physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, bending, climbing, standing, and walking.
- Adequate visual and auditory acuity.
- High-heat environments (ovens).
- Ability to work in cold temperatures (freezers/refrigerators).
- Fast-paced, team-oriented, and safety-conscious atmosphere.
- May work in different areas of the bakery based on production and staffing needs.
