Job Summary

The role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resources, inventory, and manufacturing capacity. This role involves collaborating with production, procurement, quality, warehouse, and sales teams to meet customer requirements and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, sales forecasts, and inventory levels.
  • Prepare and monitor production schedules to ensure on-time completion of manufacturing orders.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials for smooth production.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, machine breakdowns, or material shortages.
  • Analyze production capacity, resource utilization, and bottlenecks to improve productivity.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and dispatch teams to ensure timely shipment of finished products.
  • Prepare production planning reports, KPIs, and MIS reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company policies throughout the production planning process.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and process improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate planning data in MRP systems and ensure timely updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5–9 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with MRP systems such as SAP. Well versed with SAP PP and related systems.

Required Skills

  • Strong production planning and scheduling knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP systems.
  • Good understanding of inventory management and capacity planning.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies along with digitalization is an advantage.
