Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory requirements, and business objectives. Ensure production priorities are communicated effectively across the organization.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and other departments to support efficient workflow and supply chain coordination. Foster strong communication to ensure operational alignment.
  • Evaluate production capacity requirements based on workforce availability, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints. Adjust plans as needed to meet changing business needs.
  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time by aligning production schedules with delivery commitments and customer expectations. Monitor schedule adherence and address delays proactively.
  • Analyze production data, KPIs, and operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Use data-driven insights to support planning decisions.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing efficiency, reducing lead times, and minimizing operational costs. Recommend and implement process enhancements where appropriate.
  • Identify potential risks that could impact production schedules and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Monitor issues related to supply chain delays, equipment downtime, and resource constraints.
  • Utilize and optimize ERP and production planning systems to improve planning accuracy and operational efficiency. Support ongoing system improvements and best practices.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and adjust production plans accordingly. Maintain flexibility to respond to changes in customer requirements.
  • Develop contingency plans to address unexpected operational challenges and maintain production continuity. Respond quickly and effectively to changing business conditions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate production activities to maintain appropriate stock levels. Balance inventory availability while minimizing excess inventory and costs.
  • Track production planning performance metrics and recommend improvements to drive operational success. Support leadership with reporting and performance analysis.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding production schedules, risks, capacity constraints, and opportunities for improvement. Communicate issues and recommendations in a clear and timely manner.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing, supply chain, or operations.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production planning software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Desired:

  • 5+ years of production planning or manufacturing operations experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Advanced experience with forecasting, capacity planning, and ERP systems.

The final compensation offered to the candidate may be based on geographical locations, work experience and/or skill level. Additions to the compensation packaging, including but not limited to paid time off, insurance benefits and 401(k) eligibility, will be outlined at the time of the job offer.

Compensation range: $70,000-$90,000
