ATI Millersburg Is seeking a Production Planner to join our team. This position is part of the Specialty Alloys and Components business unit based In Albany, Oregon and reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

This is a day shift position and will be on site with no option for remote work.

The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring the flow of material to and through their assigned Area Business Teams (ABT). This role ensures alignment between manufacturing plans and shipment plans, while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating production schedules based on changes in operations execution in order to meet customer demands.
  • Responsible for maintaining batch step dates and scheduled ship dates by SRN (shipment reschedule notification) as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all necessary materials and resources are planned appropriately based on capacity.
  • Works closely with Area Business Engineer (ABE) to set the production plan based on customer requirements, rescheduling material flow based on feedback from the ABE. Sets inventory targets and specific inventory action plans with ABE to reach targets. Manages key performance indicators to compare actual production performance against the established standards (Production to Plan, PTP).
  • Works closely with Planning Managers to ensure proper order management (new orders, late line recovery, quality issues requiring replanning, batch assignment, and changes in operations capability) and demand does not exceed capacity – ultimately translating requirements into an operations production plan.
  • Works closely with the Sales Team as the integral communication point between operations and our customers. Weekly connections to review changes in production and dates required.
  • Overseeing the production process to ensure that it adheres to the schedule and meets quality standards.
  • Identifying potential bottlenecks, delays, or issues in the production process and implementing corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Co-ordinates the production planning with maintenance planning and scheduling needs.
  • Reschedules batches based on non-conforming material, including rework. Attendance of quality DMB is critical to ensure proper communication from quality and engineering teams.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports on demand vs. capacity analysis in 0-3 month timeframe, on time delivery, and inventory.
  • Participating in or leading initiatives to improve production planning processes, such as improving standard work process, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma projects.

Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000annually


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of professional experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have ASCM CPIM certification or be willing to obtain certification within first 12 months in the role.
  • Bachelor's degree. Ideal fields of study are Supply Chain, Engineering or other relevant technical field.
  • 2 years' experience in manufacturing preferred. Internship experience will be considered.
  • Experience in production planning and/or control areas with a solid understanding of manufacturing procedures is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, OBI, PowerBI, OPM.
