About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Casino, New South Wales In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising production plans that balance customer demand, capacity, inventory, service levels, and cost in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain APAC and leading one direct report, you will play a key role in driving planning excellence, ensuring effective execution of production schedules, and supporting the ongoing development of planning capability within the team.
Working cross-functionally across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations, this role plays a critical part in ensuring uninterrupted supply, efficient use of resources, and minimal waste. You will translate demand signals into executable production schedules, proactively manage risk, and support continuous improvement across planning and execution.
What You’ll Do:
1. Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage short- and medium-term production plans and daily/weekly schedules, optimising sequencing to minimise downtime, changeovers, and waste while responding to real-time disruptions.
2. Demand, Supply & Inventory Coordination: Align production with demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets by monitoring raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, while managing shelf-life and avoiding excess or obsolete stock.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration & S&OP: Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service, contributing planning inputs to S&OP and providing clear production updates.
4. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Track schedule adherence and key KPIs (DIFOT, production attainment, utilisation, inventory, waste), investigate variances, and drive improvements in planning accuracy and execution.
5. Systems & Planning Transformation: Support the transition from Excel-based planning to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central by designing, testing, and embedding automated planning, MRP, and scheduling processes.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred)
2–5+ years’ experience in production planning and/or scheduling within manufacturing or FMCG
Experience across both spreadsheet-based planning and ERP-driven environments
Practical experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Pronto, or similar)
High proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic production environment
Clear and confident communicator across shopfloor and office-based teams
Organised, disciplined, and able to re-plan quickly under pressure
