
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring the flow of production activities to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations. This role involves working closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to align production plans with customer demand, inventory levels, and resource availability.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Develops and maintains production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
· Monitors production progress and adjusts schedules to address delays, shortages, or changes in demand.
· Collaborates with procurement to ensure material availability.
· Collaborates with engineering, quality and logistics to establish, communicate and monitor deadlines to achieve customer delivery expectations.
· Analyzes production data to identify bottlenecks, improve throughput, and reduce waste.
· Maintains accurate records of production schedules, work orders, and inventory transactions.
· Communicates schedule changes and priorities to relevant departments.
· Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Position Qualifications
· Two-year degree preferred.
· 5+ years of manufacturing experience in sheet metal fabrication industry required.
· Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and planning tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Skill in written communications
• Must be able to prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
• Must have excellent accounting skills, strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to function as a team player.
• Ability to work with scheduled deadlines.
