Rotating Day Shift (Continental)
Monday to Thursday – Night Shift
Weekend Night Shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
This would be a Mon-Fri, Day shift.
What you will do
You will be responsible for on-time delivery of manufactured goods by planning manufacturing activities and resources for your assigned manufacturing plant to meet the demand schedule. You will be the liaison with several departments including materials, engineering, operations, quality, and production to ensure goods are manufactured in a timely process according to plan, and you will be integral in leading and advancing production reporting and analysis.
How you will do it
Provide guidance to Production Management with shift configurations, labor allocation and staffing levels to meet requirements of the facility.
Collaborate on execution of production schedule and resolve any obstacles to on time delivery.
Report on worker efficiency and production rates and provide insight from measurements on areas for improvement.
Maintain and produce weekly and daily production plans using the monthly forecast released from operations.
Evaluate capacity and ensure it is aligned with the forecast. Identify constraints and make recommendations for improvement.
Focus on bottlenecking manufacturing areas and propose solutions based on analysis of capacity outlook.
Coordinate material availability with the purchasing and materials departments and schedule jobs accordingly.
Manage the materials requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules and forecast demand.
Coordinate outsourcing activities as a solution to capacity constraints.
Enhance scheduling visual management on the manufacturing floors.
Build and manage production key performance indicators and reporting.
Coordinate daily production activities between Production Management. This includes scheduling build dates, communicating build delays, generation of production reports and keeping the production schedule up to date.
Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on material substitutions and provide appropriate cut-in points.
Create the production schedule ensuring the plans reflect priority work. Full ownership over the internal scheduling software and accountability of information accuracy.
Reconcile schedule attainment for daily, weekly, and monthly plans.
Perform data entry as required to record statistical information.
Monitor, audit, and maintain the scheduling system to ensure performance stays on target.
Take part in Lean initiatives including Kaizens and Gemba walks to improve schedule attainment.
Lead meetings for various production -related topics.
Other duties as required.
What we look for Required:
University degree or diploma in Operations Management or Commerce is an asset.
Proven experience in a production planner position within a manufacturing environment
Experience in ERP systems, SAP and advanced Excel skills
Data analysis experience - ability to utilize a variety of software tools (databases, spreadsheets, flowcharts etc.) to perform forecasting, modeling, analysis, simulations, and flow chart functions.
Strong analytical background and organization skills
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail
Demonstrated, written and oral communications skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Strong customer service orientation
