We are seeking a skilled and reliable Production Operator to join our Molded Products Department and support daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for operating department machinery, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient production flow.
This position also serves as a backup to the Lead, providing support with team coordination, training, and maintaining standard work practices when needed. It is ideal for a hands-on operator who is ready to take on additional responsibility and grow into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Machine Operation
• Operate all Molded Products department machinery (1"and 2.5") with minimal supervision
• Support production during breaks, shift changes, and team absences
• Assist with equipment cleaning and operate smaller grinding equipment as needed
• Ensure production goals and deadlines are met safely and efficiently
Leadership Support (Backup to Lead)
• Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
• Provide guidance and direction to production assistants as needed
• Step in to support operations in the Lead’s absence
• Reinforce standard work procedures and support 6S initiatives
Quality & Process Control
• Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and procedures
• Partner with leadership to address process improvements and maintain consistency
Material Handling
• Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods
• Follow all powered industrial equipment safety requirements
Maintenance & Housekeeping
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and report any issues promptly
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
Additional Responsibilities
• Enter and review production data and work orders in system
• Cross-train in other functions within the Molded Products department
• Participate in safety, production, and company meetings
• Assist in the development of SOPs and production documentation

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of manufacturing or machine operation experience required
• 1+ year of forklift experience required
• Ability to learn all Molded Products department equipment within 6 months
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills and understanding of units of measure
• Comfortable with data entry and basic computer systems (ERP experience a plus)
• Ability to wear required PPE and work at heights when needed
• Willingness to work overtime based on production needs

Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing environment and may include:
• Exposure to noise, dust/pigments, and temperature changes
• Working around heavy machinery and industrial equipment
• Required use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods
• Frequent lifting (up to 55 lbs) and material handling
• Manual dexterity to operate tools and machinery
• Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment
• Strong attention to detail and time management
