Wilsonart, Temple, Texashas an immediate opening for a CheckerThis individual oversees the operation of the Low Pressure/High Pressure treater under the direction of Low Pressure/High Pressure foreman/supervisor. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Required to treat decorative papers to meet quality specification targets
  • Responsible for verification that the decorative paper length and width meet quality specification targets
  • Adjust Low Pressure/High Pressure treater oven temp & fan speeds to meet treating specifications
  • Inspects decorative material for pattern defects, crumbs, dirt, wrinkles, water spots, etc.
  • Tests the Low Pressure/High Pressure treated material to verify it meets quality specifications
  • Oversees Low Pressure/High Pressure stacker and Low Pressure wet end operator in the performance of their duties
  • Make sure all computer and paper work has been accurately completed
  • Operates Low Pressure/High Pressure treater and lift table
  • Follow all ISO procedures as written
  • Creates and completes WIP jobs in Oracle
  • Attaches inventory component tag to material
  • Required to document actual treating data electronically or in written form
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Clean Low Pressure/High Pressure treater
  • Assist Low Pressure/High Pressure wet end operator and Low Pressure/High Pressure stacker operation when needed. Would require cross training in the High Pressure area and Low Pressure
  • Keep Low Pressure/High Pressure treater downtime and waste to a minimum
  • Acts as the Melamine/Low Pressure Treater Operator, Melamine/Low Pressure Sheeter Operator and or Melamine/Low Pressure Treater Stacker in their absence

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules
  • Ability to create and complete WIP jobs in Oracle
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards
  • Knowledge of mathematics as it applies to treater operations
  • Knowledge of quality standards
  • Ability to communicate well in a production operation environment
  • Ability to operate machinery in a safe manner
  • Able to read tape measure
  • Leadership ability and willing to train as a backup Crew Lead

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

1+years. Must have held the positon of melamine high pressure/low pressure stacker/rewinder or melamine high pressure/low pressure wet end for one(1) year on the HR database or the ISO training database must indicate that candidate has been “trained” for one (1) year must have an excellent working knowledge of all relevant Oracle transactions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight of 50-100 pounds.

All positions consist of working rotating shift work.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/ground staff
