The Production Operator is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment (Doctor Machine). the Operator must understand machine operation and be able to make basic machine adjustments.

Shift Hours: 2:45pm - 11:00pm

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Sets up production equipment per process specifications and makes basic machine adjustments.
  • Inspects and assesses product quality per established specifications.
  • Understands machine operation, function and production requirements.
  • Prepares production logs, work orders, downtime summaries.
  • Records production data for production reporting.
  • Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Regularly stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, push, pull and carry; and hear.
  • Frequently is required to talk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to:

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to humid conditions; heights; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; skin irritants; outside weather conditions; high heat; and risk of static shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
  • Regularly required to work with others, but may occasionally work alone.
