Production Operator C (Dryer Operator)
Nature of Position
Operation of the process equipment to produce products meeting internal and customer specifications and of sufficient quantities to ship as scheduled. The primary assignment designation does not in any way limit the Company from changing the primary assignment at any time for any length of time.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Operation of equipment per procedures, work instructions and daily operating instructions.
2. Perform in-process production testing as specified per Process Test Frequency Manual. 3.
Provide production samples to QA Lab as specified per Process Test Frequency Manual. 4.
Record and document process operating data.
5. Keep the work area clean.
6. Work in a safe and productive manner.
7. Prepare maintenance work orders.
8. Other duties as required and assigned.
Machines and Equipment Involved:
Various equipment associated with minerals processing such as screw conveyors, silos, belt conveyors, product tanks, bins, pumps, dry grinding mills, air classifiers, dryers, rotary vacuum filters, wet grinders, wet classifiers and other related equipment.
Working Conditions:
Job includes both inside and outside duties in varying weather conditions. Activities include considerable walking and standing on various floor levels.
Qualifications
Experience Two years industrial minerals industry or other continuous process industry. Specific job requirements will be taught by qualified trainers using the established operating procedures and work instructions as guidelines.
Must have good demonstrated computer skills.
Skills Requirement: Work with limited supervision; self starter. Ability to use or learn to use a computer keyboard. Communication skills including verbal, non-verbal, written, listening skills, understanding verbal instructions, and interpersonal relations skills are necessary.
Required Activities: Standing, walking up and down stairs and climbing ladders to product storage bins. Capable of lifting a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Other Ability to work in an environment emphasizing teamwork. Analyze data, condition and take corrective action per procedures and work instructions. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Must be able to follow procedures and
work instructions for the job and abide by safety rules.
