Job Description

A Production Operative is responsible for handling, packing, and preparing finished products, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and presentation standards. Duties can include some of the following:

Packer: Handle and pack finished products into trays, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and presentation standards.

End of Line: Ensure products are correctly packed, labelled, checked, and boxed ready for dispatch.

Roller: Rolling Pig in Blankets – wrap a slice of bacon around a chipolata.

Place of Work

DBP: Sausage facility, Down Business Park, Downpatrick

OTB: Vegetarian facility, Down Business Park, Downpatrick

FBR: Bacon Facility, Finnebrogue Road, Downpatrick

CGR: Seasonal Facility, Finnebrogue Road, Downpatrick

Hours of Work

We have roles across all sites on day or night shift.

Day Shift: 6:45am - 5:00pm, 5 days per week. Rate of Pay: £13.23 - £13.28 per hour

Night Shift: 6:00pm – 4/5am, 5 days per week. Rate of pay: £13.73 - £13.78 per hour

Requirements for the role

  • This is an entry-level role and a commitment to training is essential. Full training will be provided.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team with self-motivation and initiative.
  • Proven high level of manual dexterity and speed.
  • Previous experience within a food environment and an understanding of food hygiene and safety is desirable but not essential.
  • All candidates should demonstrate core values at all times and have an understanding of and commitment to the Equality and Diversity Policy and ability to promote this day to day.
