Our award-winning client is seeking a Production Manager/Head to join their team! The Production Manager/Head – Production/Operations will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of all production activities at our West Virginia facility. This critical role demands a highly experienced and results-oriented individual with a proven track record of success in complex chemical manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of production, including planning, execution, optimization, and continuous improvement, while ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all production operations, including planning, scheduling, and execution of production campaigns.
• Oversee all aspects of production, including batch and continuous processes, unit operations (e.g., distillation, filtration, crystallization, drying, mixing), and equipment maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Manage production budgets, inventory levels, and raw material procurement to optimize production costs.
• Develop and implement robust quality control systems to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of production personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate effectively with other departments, including R&D, engineering, maintenance, and logistics, to achieve operational excellence.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve production processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry required.
• Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in the Fine Chemical or Petrochemical industry with a strong emphasis on complex operations involving batch and continuous processes.
• Deep understanding of chemical manufacturing principles, including reaction engineering, unit operations, and process control.
• Proven track record of successfully managing production budgets, improving operational efficiency, and meeting production targets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
• Experience with safety management systems, quality control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing), and environmental regulations is essential.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO, or PMP) are highly valued.
