In this role you will be responsible for the planning of the assigned materials, in Medium- / Low-Speed Division in Baden, Switzerland, ensuring the timely and efficient availability of materials for a manufacturing production schedule by managing inventory and analysing demand. Key responsibilities include short term production planning, material planning to meet required deadlines for the customer demand, and inventory management, including collaboration with internal stakeholders to prevent shortages or overstocking. Reporting to the Team Leader of Logistics & Operational Purchasing, you will contribute to our success in region.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Short-Term Demand & Supply planning: Analyze demand and translate incoming volume into a tactical short-term supply plan to meet the identified customer demand. Provide input into IBP and short-term planning processes: identify issue that cannot be resolved locally and provide feedback regarding feasibility of the plan.
  • Production Planning: Create MPS (master production schedule) and assembly plan that align with demand forecasts and inventory goals. Manage load levelling to ensure a balanced workload for production teams. Provide accurate commitment /delivery dates to customer service.
  • Material Planning Align material availability with the production schedule to ensure an uninterrupted flow of raw materials and components both from internal and external sources.
  • Inventory Management: Manage stock levels and deliver optimal inventory targets to prevent stockouts or overstocks. Analyze excess and obsolete inventory, execute scrapping activities when required. Define and take appropriate actions for optimizing inventory performance with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Inventory Parameters: Calculate and maintain in ERP and relevant planning systems inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, replenishment lead-time, and replenishment strategies.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues. Execute DCR decisions with minimized impact on material obsolescence.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs in the supply chain.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain disruptions (e.g., material shortages, transportation delays) and develop contingency plans.


Your Background:

  • Experience Proven experience (min. 2 years) in material- / production planning, inventory control, purchasing, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Software Proficiency Proficiency in using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (specifically SAP, GIB, EWM, Felios, Microsoft Office Tools.).
  • Problem-Solving Resolving unexpected issues quickly and effectively. A collaborative and solution-focused approach.
  • Technical Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality control principles.
  • Analytical Skills Strong analytical skills, and proficiency in data analysis tools, especially MS Excel, Power BI desired, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good negotiation skills for coordinating with various teams. Fluent written and spoken communication skills in German and English.
  • Education Further education, appropriate to area of expertise is desired.
