JOB SUMMARY                                                                         
The Production Manager is responsible for building production schedules, ensuring production processes stay within budgets and meet deadlines and reviewing the productivity of all manufacturing equipment and processes.  Responsibilities also include keeping accurate material inventories, making supply orders and effectively leading team members in the production effort.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all safety and health standards are met to maintain an accident-free workplace
Develop workplace policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising quality or workplace safety
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, labor efficiency, scrap, and downtime
Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing practices, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives
Manage labor planning, overtime, and resource allocation to optimize productivity
Set productivity goals for each manufacturing operation collaborating with supply chain, maintenance, quality and engineering
Continuously evaluate resources and equipment to minimize downtime and increase production
Motivate, guide and support production staff
Communicate regularly with upper management to resolve issues impacting production

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field preferred
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in production environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven record of effectively training and managing employees in the areas of safety and production
Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facility preferred, ISO 9001 Auditor certification a plus
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training and certifications strongly preferred
WORK CONDITIONS 
Physical Demands/Work Environment:  
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.  It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.  This list is not meant to cover every possible scenario but simply provide an outline.  Employees may be assigned other tasks as needed.
