We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee operations at two fiberglass window manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production teams, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement initiatives across both locations.
The Production Manager will work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and senior leadership teams to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and support company growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Manage and coordinate all manufacturing activities across two production facilities.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality standards and delivery commitments.
- Monitor daily production performance, labor utilization, equipment efficiency, and throughput.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and operational performance.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, productivity, and cost control.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve employee effectiveness.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, training, and employee development initiatives.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all fiberglass window products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to investigate and resolve production issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve product quality.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable workplace safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action reviews.
- Lead incident investigations and implement preventative measures.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower production costs.
- Implement best practices across both facilities to standardize operations and improve performance.
Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Collaborate with Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Participate in capital equipment planning and facility improvement projects.
- Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Work closely with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure adequate material availability.
- Monitor raw material usage and inventory levels to support production requirements.
- Assist in forecasting production needs and capacity planning.
Financial Management
- Manage departmental budgets and labor costs.
- Monitor manufacturing expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support annual budgeting and operational planning processes.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience overseeing multiple facilities is strongly preferred.
- Experience in fiberglass, fenestration, windows and doors, composites, building products, or related manufacturing industries is considered a strong asset.
