Production Manager

Purpose:

The Production Manager provides direction and oversees production of employees enabling them to reach the daily job objectives, quality and productivity goals, while working in a heavy manufacturing union environment.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for daily implementation of production goals and objectives which include:
• Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines.
• Associated reporting.
• Responsible for compliance with all quality efforts in production through proper use of work instructions, processes and procedures.
• Controlling costs.
• Delivery of product in a timely manner in accordance with established business plans.
• Providing and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Building and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Production Managers responsible for management and direction of supervisors.
• Focus on management of efforts between maintenance and production.
• Implementing and carrying out production schedules for delivery of product.
• Coordination with other organizations and departments as needed to create a team environment.

Requirements:

• High School diploma required, Bachelor degree is strongly preferred.
• 5 years or more of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required.
• 5 years or more of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Metal Fabrication Industry experience.
• Knowledge of the Foundry Industry preferred.
• Union Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
• General understanding of PCs and related software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
• Must be able to communicate in English for all business / job related transactions.

Schedule:

• Day shift position with some evenings and weekends required.
