The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Production Manager to lead the end-to-end production process across our UK and international supply base. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience within the apparel industry, with extensive knowledge of Leicester manufacturing, alongside proven experience managing production across Morocco, India and Sri Lanka.

This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced fashion environment, is highly organised, solutions-focused, and capable of building strong supplier relationships whilst ensuring exceptional quality, speed to market and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the critical path from order placement through to final shipment, ensuring all delivery milestones are achieved.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with manufacturers across Leicester, Morocco, India and Sri Lanka.
  • Oversee daily production planning across multiple suppliers and product categories.
  • Monitor factory capacity, production efficiency and allocation of orders.
  • Identify potential production risks and implement proactive recovery plans.
  • Conduct regular factory visits in the UK and overseas to monitor production performance and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Design, Product Development, Garment Technology, Buying and Logistics teams to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Drive continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiency, cost control and lead times.
  • Review production schedules, negotiate delivery dates and ensure supplier accountability.
  • Ensure all garments meet company quality standards prior to shipment.
  • Manage sample approvals including PP samples, size sets, TOP samples and shipment approvals.
  • Analyse production KPIs including OTIF, supplier performance, defect rates and factory efficiency.
  • Support onboarding of new factories and production partners.
  • Ensure compliance with company sourcing policies, ethical standards and product safety requirements.
  • Assist with supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with freight and logistics partners to minimise delays and optimise shipping methods.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in garment production management.
  • Extensive experience working with Leicester garment manufacturers.
  • Strong production management experience across Morocco, India and Sri Lanka.
  • Proven background within premium fashion or womenswear manufacturing.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction, manufacturing techniques and production processes.
  • Strong knowledge of woven, jersey, tailoring and occasionwear production.
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers simultaneously.
  • Excellent understanding of Critical Path Management.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance quality, cost and delivery.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within premium fashion or occasionwear.
  • Knowledge of ethical sourcing, social compliance and sustainability programmes.
  • Understanding of UK and international import/export processes.
  • Experience with supplier performance scorecards and KPI reporting.
  • Knowledge of fabric sourcing and production planning.
