The Production Manager is within our Auto/Car Care/Prestone division and is responsible for overseeing all production operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with quality standards. This role provides leadership to production team members to include two off shift supervisors, drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages staffing and resources, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and operational objectives. This role is located at our Alsip, Illinois facility.
The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $125,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Your Role at Prestone
• Lead and manage daily production operations or conversion to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
• Serve as the primary day-shift leader, providing direction supervision of production operations and personnel to ensure the safe, efficient and timely execution of daily manufacturing activities.
• Supervise and develop production supervisors and hourly employees.
• Establish production schedules and ensure customer and business demands are met and staffed to plan.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production processes.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and employee performance.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and employee development activities.
• Support employee engagement and maintain a positive work environment.
• Ensure proper onboarding and training of new employees.
• Review production reports and communicate operational performance.
• Manage labor and operating costs while maintaining production requirements.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Required Experience and Skills
• Proven experience in production management, including sales and profit loss responsibility
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
• Expertise in strategic planning and business development
• Proficiency in process improvement methodologies
• Excellent project management abilities with a focus on delivering results
• Prior experience supervising employees and managing day-to-day operations

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience in a management role preferably in an automotive or chemical industry..
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing multiple shifts of small teams.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
The facility is a manufacturing and production facility within an indoor/outdoor, industrial environment. There may be standing for long periods of time, frequent walking throughout the facility, lifting heavy items, and performing other physical tasks. Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational needs outside of normal business hours when necessary. Exposure to noise, machinery, varying temperatures and production-related environments.
