Job Title: Production Manager - Automation

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: VP Manufacturing Technology

Location Pembroke, NC

As a Production Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead the operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art automated manufacturing systems designed for home construction. You will work with the manufacturing technology and operational excellence groups and align will the local production team to manage and run component-level automation. You will be responsible for the continuous improvements for the automated systems to achieve measurable improvements in quality and throughput.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and management to daily production schedules, all site support services and building facilities.
  • Hires required staffing to operate and maintain automated systems.
  • Collaborates with receiving plants to make sure all orders are processed correctly and promptly.
  • Accountable for capital budgets in area of responsibility and ensures adherence to the budget guidelines, procurement code and delivering service on budget. Provides oversight for all POs in the facility department and processes vendor invoices.
  • Responsible for coordinating with purchasing on all required inbound production material including boards and panels in alignment with the production schedule. Maintains and manages on-site inventory.
  • Responsible for coordinating outbound material with trucking companies to include reverse logistics of racks and pallets.
  • Manage day-to-day operations calls during disruptions; assess root causes and methods for remediation. Coordinates with OEM suppliers to troubleshoot through remote access.
  • Responsible for the inventory, ordering, and delivery of all necessary supplies and equipment for the service of automated systems. Responsible for consumables and spare parts inventory for the automated systems.

Qualifications

  • S. in Mfg Technology, B.A. in Business or 10+ years of industrial experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or relevant experience (new line launches a plus).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. Basic experience with automated systems.
  • Familiarity with automation production lines used in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experienced in department budget management.
  • Ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of Capital Project Development, Cost Estimation and Management.
  • Managing/Scheduling/Developing Human Resources.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Operations of shop equipment to include hand tools and fork trucks.
