Job Description

Company Overview

Our client is an established, highly regarded manufacturer specializing in precision-engineered polymer solutions and high-performance industrial components. Operating a modern, high-capacity manufacturing facility in Negeri Sembilan, they deliver customized, heavy-duty packaging and technical structural components to top-tier commercial partners across diverse B2B supply chains. To support their next phase of operational scaling, automation, and lean manufacturing, they are currently seeking a dynamic, hands-on Production Manager to oversee their plant operations.

Mission

The Production Manager holds full operational accountability for directing, managing, and optimizing all day-to-day manufacturing activities within the plant (including high-tonnage injection moulding, automated blow moulding, and secondary assembly sections). The primary objective is to execute the production schedule safely and cost-effectively, minimize material scrap/waste, optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and champion a robust culture of safety, quality, and 5S cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

1. Production Management & Operational Control

  • Scheduling Execution:

Plan, organize, and direct daily shop-floor operations to consistently hit volume targets, quality specifications, and on-time customer delivery timelines.

  • Resource Optimization:

Maximize the productivity of machinery, raw materials, and manpower across multiple shifts to achieve tight manufacturing cost-competitiveness.

  • Downtime Mitigation:

Actively monitor, analyze, and report on line performance, equipment downtime, and process deviations to sustain highly predictable production outputs.

2. Quality Governance, Scrap & Rejection Reduction

  • CAPA Leadership:

Partner closely with QA/QC to investigate root causes of product rejects and process variations, leading structured problem-solving (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone) to implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Material Control:

Implement systematic scrap-reduction programs on the floor, monitoring critical machine process parameters to ensure high first-pass yield.

  • ISO Alignment:

Support and maintain robust operational workflows in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

3. Lean Manufacturing & 5S Implementation

  • Waste Elimination:

Drive productivity improvement and waste-reduction initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Housekeeping Discipline:

Maintain and enforce strict 5S housekeeping standards across all manufacturing and storage areas to ensure a highly organized, safe, and professional work environment.

  • Team Synergy:

Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture committed to continuous improvement.

4. Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Personnel Management:

Supervise, train, and motivate a large production team (including Shift Supervisors, Technicians, and General Operators), defining clear KPIs and performance goals.

  • Manpower Allocation:

Plan and balance shifts effectively to manage labor costs and overtime, while facilitating seamless communication between shifts.

  • Discipline & Compliance:

Ensure all production personnel strictly adhere to company policies, operational procedures, and work instructions.

5. Safety, Health & Environment (EHS)

  • Zero-Harm Environment:

Enforce total compliance with safety regulations, ensuring all team members are fully trained in safe machine operations and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Incident Response:

Lead immediate emergency responses during any machinery failures or plant incidents, upholding a proactive, safety-first factory culture.

6. Inventory & Material Discipline

  • Consumption Control:

Closely monitor the consumption of raw materials, color masterbatches, and regrind resins, implementing tight controls to minimize compounding and extrusion waste.

  • Material Alignment:

Partner with the Warehouse and Planning departments to track Work-in-Progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory, ensuring material availability matches scheduling needs.

7. Strategic Reporting & Administration

  • Executive Visibility:

Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to top management, providing clear updates on performance metrics, scrap rates, and efficiency initiatives.

  • Audit Support:

Represent the manufacturing department during internal, external, and customer-specific audits, presenting robust and orderly process documentation.

Requirements

Education & Technical Credentials

  • Education:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer/Plastic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Moulding Mastery:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive, hands-on working experience specifically within a
    plastic injection moulding

    and
    blow moulding

    manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Skills:

Deep familiarity with process troubleshooting, high-speed thermal molding equipment parameters, and robotic or automated assembly lines.

  • Methodologies:

Solid understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards, GMP requirements, and structured 5S/Lean tools.

Personal Attributes & Language Skills

  • Languages:

Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin

(spoken and written) is required to ensure effective technical communication, design reviews, and vendor coordination across a diverse regional and international stakeholder network.

  • Leadership Profile:
