We're looking for an experienced Production Managerto lead our Australian production and repairs operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact on customer experience, operational performance and our growth across ANZ.
In this role you will:
Oversee end-to-end production and repair of hearing devices
Ensure safe, efficient, and lean production with a strong focus on quality, delivery and cost
Partner with our offshore production facilities to optimise outsourcing and capacity
Act as a key business partner to commercial teams, ensuring we meet customer expectations
Coach and develop the production supervisors and team leaders to ensure a high-performing, engaged workforce
Key responsibilities
Lead and develop the production team to achieve manufacturing excellence and department KPIs
Plan, organise and optimise workforce utilisation and headcount in line with demand trends
Drive continuous improvement in processes, production flow and product quality (including lean/Six Sigma methods where relevant)
Maintain a safe, healthy work environment and implement safety & health programs
Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards (including ISO requirements)
Manage departmental budget, cost control and cost reduction initiatives
Provide accurate, insightful reporting on production performance and service delivery
Act as a proactive member of the local Leadership Team, contributing to operational planning and annual budget processes
Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service and headquarter functions) and external customers/partners
Support production and operational/quality processes for the New Zealand site, including a requirement for occasional travel
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Knowledge of electronic equipment manufacturing and instrument repair
Experience managing high-volume production, ideally in a medical device manufacturing environment
A hands-on leadership style, with proven success in building high-performing, highly engaged teams
SQL data management and advanced Excel (data cubes, analysis), plus solid PowerPoint and Word
Demonstrated track record of improving quality, efficiency and cost
Understanding of lean manufacturing / Six Sigma and ISO 13485
Understanding of Work Health and Safety regulations and requirements
A relevant qualification in Production, Engineering or a related discipline
Strong planning and organisational skills with a practical, solution-focused mindset
Analytical and problem-solving capability
Customer-focused approach with clear, confident communication skills
Comfortable working cross-functionally, influencing stakeholders at all levels and operating in a fast paced, dynamic environment
