About the Role

The Production Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high‑quality operation of the Timber Frame & Truss Production Team. You will be the first point of contact for machine issues, breakdowns, and team escalations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day production operations
  • Ensuring compliance with safe work procedures
  • Maintaining high product quality standards
  • Coordinating machine troubleshooting and breakdown response
  • Leading training, development, and performance support for the Production Team
  • Working closely with management to achieve business goals and continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A strong record of punctuality and reliability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in leading and developing cohesive and efficient work teams
  • Proven experience optimising factory output
  • Experience using production software (MiTek OptiFLOW an advantage but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of timber sizes and grades
  • Strong general computer literacy including computerised factory equipment
  • An unrestricted drivers licence
  • A current forklift ticket
  • Availability to work full-time hours within NewTruss operating hours

Additional Requirements

Candidates progressing beyond the interview stage will be required to complete:

  • A Pre-Employment Medical, including Drug & Alcohol Screening

  • A Background Check

All NewTruss roles are subject to ongoing random Drug & Alcohol testing.
