Production Manager | Erie County, PA · $80,000–$120,000

About the Role A confidential manufacturer is looking for a Production Manager to take full ownership of its manufacturing operation — from extrusion to converting. This is a hands-on leadership role where the expectation is to drive output, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure every order is produced on time, at cost, and to the highest standard of quality. Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

• Own production schedules, processes, and execution
• Ensure orders are produced on time, in full, and at target cost
• Lead capacity planning, workflow optimization, and bottleneck removal
• Create, enforce, and continuously improve SOPs
• Ensure full utilization of production software and lead pre-production order reviews

Team Leadership

• Hire, train, and manage production staff
• Drive accountability, discipline, and performance across the floor
• Conduct evaluations, resolve employee issues, and own labor compliance
• Foster a culture of inclusion, pride, and shared commitment to results

Equipment & Facility

• Own maintenance, repairs, and machine uptime
• Implement preventative maintenance programs and improve automation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional facility

Inventory & Materials

• Own raw materials and finished goods inventory
• Ensure accurate tracking systems and coordinate material flow with suppliers
• Oversee proper storage, handling, and usage

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Own quality control across all production processes
• Enforce safety programs, training, and regulatory compliance
• Lead audits, inspections, and environmental compliance initiatives

Performance & Reporting

• Track and analyze KPIs including output, waste, labor, and downtime
• Drive cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and waste reduction
• Prepare and present operational reports and support cross-departmental communication
• Develop contingency plans and oversee shipping, receiving, and recycling

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing production operations in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership track record with demonstrated ability to build accountable, high-performing teams
• Hands-on knowledge of equipment maintenance, inventory management, and quality control
• Experience developing and enforcing SOPs and driving continuous improvement initiatives
