Production Line Technician
to work in
Thika
, Kenya
Job Summary:
The Shift electrician technician will be
responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and
components of industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate should
have a strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting abilities,
and a commitment to safety.
DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Installation and Maintenance:
·
Install, maintain, and repair
electrical systems, wiring, and components of tobacco machinery and equipment.
·
Perform routine electrical inspections,
electrical online tasks and preventive maintenance to ensure machines operates
efficiently and safely.
·
Troubleshoot
electrical issues and repair or replace faulty components as needed
·
Line manning of the shift during
production to achieve zero downtime
2. Electrical Systems:
·
Interpret electrical schematics,
diagrams, and technical documentation to identify and resolve electrical
problems.
·
Test
electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance
with safety standards.
·
Upgrade
electrical systems to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.
3. Safety Compliance:
·
Adhere to
safety protocols and regulations while performing electrical work, including
lockout/tagout
LOTOTO
procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE)
usage.
·
Conduct
safety inspections and recommend improvements to mitigate electrical hazards.
C) Key Outputs/Deliverables/KPIs
1. Installation and Maintenance:
a. Reduced downtime through vigilant line manning
b. Percentage of electrical issues resolved
without the need for follow-up visits or
rework.
c. Reduction in repeat electrical failures over
time.
d. Performing work at height tasks where need is
needed
2. Electrical Systems:
a. Average duration of downtime per incident.
b. Average time taken to respond to electrical
maintenance breakdowns.
c. Percentage of urgent electrical issues
addressed within a specified timeframe.
d. Mean Time between Failures (MTBF) for
electrical components or systems.
e. Improvement in equipment reliability over time.
3. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of production activities
and other issues arising and also prepare reports on the production line and
performance and make recommendations for improvement
4. Safety Compliance:
a. Reporting number of electrical safety incidents
or near misses.
b. Compliance with safety protocols and
regulations during shift work.
