Job Summary:

As our Production Lead, you will have accountability and responsibility for performance optimization of all CO2 and on-site nitrogen plants in the region that are not directly operated from the Messer Remote Operations Centre.

Activities include responding to known deficiencies, responding to current issues, proactively identifying and resolving performance gaps and reporting on plant performance on a periodic basis.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Performance optimization and process debottlenecking.
• Establishing and maintaining detailed KPI based production reporting for CO2 plants including production and power models based on feed gas availability.
• Establishing and maintaining detailed KPI based production reporting for on-site nitrogen generators with focus on minimizing liquid imports and power consumption.
• Drive improvements in process safety management at CO2 facilities with specific focus ammonia management and IIAR compliance.
• Lead investigations and troubleshooting in conjunctions with SME’s for process safety events, plant issues, incidents, nuisance alarms and alarm management.
• Drive proactive safety, reliability, and efficiency improvements and ensure savings are evaluated and captured as part of the EMBRACE program.
• Provide call troubleshooting support.
• Work closely with the site teams, reliability, and operations support to resolve plant issues.
• Coach and develop plant tech capability on assigned plants including development of sustainable training material.
• Provide onsite operational support for major plant evolutions such as bed media changes, major control system changes, planned turnarounds etc.
• Manage and execute small Capex improvement projects.

Required Skills

• Highly motivated and able to self-direct.
• Must be willing to travel 30-40%

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 plus years of experience in a process plant related operations or engineering role will be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science related field is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $102,000 - $136,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer’s 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company’s bonus program.
