The opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Production Engineer specializing in Mechanical disciplines to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure the efficient and high-quality production of Hitachi products. This role focuses on improving production lines, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
How you will make an impact
Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts for mechanical components and assemblies to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Conduct root cause analysis for production line mechanical failures, deviations, and quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products, providing DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback and participating in new product introduction (NPI) activities.
Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
Identify and implement opportunities for automation, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical production environment.
Manage and oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of new mechanical production equipment and machinery.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost, generating reports and proposing improvements.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards (e.g., ISO), and environmental guidelines in mechanical production operations.
Provide technical support and training to production operators and technicians on mechanical processes and equipment.
Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers of mechanical parts and components.

Your background
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
3-5 years of experience in a production engineering or manufacturing engineering role, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, welding, stamping, injection molding).
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for design review and process planning.
Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and industry safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
