Job Purpose
To ensure efficient and timely execution of final assembly operations for switchgear products by optimizing processes, maintaining quality standards, and supporting production targets through effective coordination with cross-functional teams.

The role operates in a high-volume switchgear assembly environment where precision, safety, and timely delivery are critical. It requires close coordination with production engineering, planning, and quality teams to meet S&OP targets while ensuring compliance with standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Dimensions
Based at LEI, Responsible for managing final assembly operations for all switchgear product lines, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety norms. Contributes to achieving monthly and annual production targets aligned with S&OP plans; influences cost optimization through process improvements and waste reduction.
Key Accountabilities
1)Production Planning & Execution
Verify BOM and material kits against transfer orders before assembly.
Monitor hourly production and ensure achievement of daily/weekly/monthly targets.
Coordinate with stores for material availability and timely replenishment.
Timely closing of production order in D365 system.
Prepare daily production reports and highlight variances.
Maintain accurate records of assembly operations, audits, and improvements.
Ensure timely availability of kits and components for uninterrupted assembly.
Coordinate with maintenance for timely upkeep of assembly tools and fixtures.
2 ) Process & Quality Management
Conduct in-process audits and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
Implement and sustain 6S, TPM, and Kaizen practices in the assembly shop.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce defects.
Support improvement of FPY (First Pass Yield) for all product lines.
3) Operator Training & Development
Multiskilled operators across different assembly stations to improve flexibility.
Retain and develop skilled workforce to meet S&OP and budget requirements.
4) Technical Support
Assist in resolving technical issues related to assembly processes.
Lead Kaizen and TPM initiatives to optimize assembly processes.
Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification.
Collaborate with Production Engineering for process optimization and tooling improvements.
5) Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory and company standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for operators.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education: Diploma/BE in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 4+ years in production/assembly within switchgear or similar electrical equipment manufacturing.

7) Project Management: Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
8) Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective.
9) Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
10) Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
