Requirements
The incumbent manages the followings activities:
· Ensure operating parameters for all ESP’s and associated control equipment and electrical system operate within design limits.
· Ensure all relevant ESP Power and Control equipment are fully operational.
· Analyze, interpret and optimize individual well performance. Employ various production surveillance techniques to monitor productivity daily.
· Work with field Operations staff and Onshore Operations Support to ensure production goals and cost control targets are met.
· Communicate abnormalities and assess immediately. Propose production optimization (choke, gaslift rate and frequency).
· Track and quantify well and field production losses against potential on a daily basis, categorize each loss by root cause (artificial lift, surface, planned or unplanned), and maintain the loss database and reporting.
· Analyze recurring loss drivers and translate the findings into clear operating guidance and prioritized optimization actions for the field production team.
· Determines which wells need production enhancement and recommend procedures or processes to maintain or increase production
· Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) installations — review downhole gauge and VSD data, diagnose underperformance and pump failures, recommend operating set-point changes, and support ESP sizing, pull and re-run decisions with the operations team.
· Prepare procedures for wells activities including well starts and restarts.
· Define wells/ESPs operating guidelines.
· Helps in providing procedures and oversight for workovers, artificial lift, optimization, intervention, and other work needed on existing wells and infrastructure.
· Knowledgeable in nodal analysis and fluid flow in reservoirs and wellbores as well as PVT (pressure, volume, temperature) analysis of reservoir fluids.
· Awareness of pressure and rate transient analysis.
· Build and maintain Prosper, Autograph, and all other ESPs wells models.
· Responsible for the evaluation, development, and implementation of short- and long-term production plans and forecasts of wells and fields, and for maintaining required safety training and compliance.
· Participate in the integrated well review meetings
· Liaise with all phases of drilling, completion and production operations throughout the life cycle of a wellbore to ensure efficient management of the facilities.
· Actively manage contracts with ESPs and VFDs vendors and follow up with related invoices.
· Work closely with management to meet financial, production and other corporate goals.
· Technical support and advise on ESP’s.
Education :
· Master degree in Petroleum Engineering or Equivalent with relevant experience in related discipline. Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
Experience :
· Five or more years of Production and Operations experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, preferably – Experience in Offshore Gabon is an adding value.
· Demonstrated experience with Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems, including ESP design, installation follow-up, performance monitoring and failure analysis.
· Hands-on ESP operating and troubleshooting experience (VSD/switchboard settings, amp chart and downhole gauge interpretation, root-cause analysis of ESP failures) is strongly preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
· Analytical and methodical, with strong attention to detail and a structured, data-driven approach to problem solving.
· Ability to function independently and in a team.
· Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
Knowledge:
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Working knowledge of ESP design and diagnostic software and a multitude of engineering tools including nodal analysis, economic evaluation, and Production/Petroleum Engineering.
· Strong data-handling and analytical skills, including well-by-well production and downtime databases, trend analysis and the construction of production loss reports (PowerBI, database, …)
· Knowledge of ERP systems (IFS, SAP or equivalent)
· Fluent in English (oral and written)
· Fluent in French (oral and written)
