We are now looking for a Production Engineer (PNE) to join our team in the Category Carbon Steel, Aluminium, Mirror, and Glass, based at our Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam office.

As a Production Engineer, you will lead the engineering and quality agenda with suppliers. Working closely with the Business Developer and Supply Planner as one business team, you will develop supplier capabilities in products and production, drive quality and manufacturing improvements, and ensure compliance with IKEA requirements. You will support the development of both existing and new suppliers while driving cost optimization through product improvements, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You can also expect to:

  • Drive quality and production assurance through audits, risk assessments, and process validation.
  • Lead quality deviation handling, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop supplier capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives and action plans.
  • Support product development and implementation with production expertise and supplier insights.
  • Optimize manufacturing performance using Lean methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure effective implementation of IKEA requirements, specifications, and technical information at suppliers.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or Production Development.
  • Good knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement tools (Lean, RCA, FMEA, 5 Why).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and fact-based approach.
  • The ability to drive supplier development, lead improvement initiatives, and manage implementation projects.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to build trustful relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • A passion for manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement, with a customer-focused and business mindset.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Carbon Steel, Aluminium, Mirror, and Glass production is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken. You are comfortable in presenting and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
