Job Description

The role of the supply process is to buy, produce and distribute the IKEA range at the lowest total cost, making high quality available to the customer under good social and environmental conditions.

Plastic is a very versatile material, and at the same time a low-cost enabler. The Applications, shapes and colors of plastic are endless, which is why it is a key material on our portfolio.

IKEA is aiming to be the leading company within technique and design. At IKEA we have high ambitions and we think that everything is possible! In order to develop the next generation’s plastic raw material, we need to strengthen our organisation with a skilled Engineer.

Assignment

Your main assignment will be to work in close collaboration with IKEA Home Furnishing Suppliers & IKEA of Sweden in projects for the development of the existing and future solutions of Plastic material for IKEA products. You will be working on developing plastic raw material solutions for various product portfolios within IKEA.

You will be driving and taking part in innovative development projects, performing material tests and securing the quality level of the raw material in your responsibility. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the technical documentation, and working with the standardization of the plastic material range You will secure the quality compliance of the material and production processes at the raw material suppliers in accordance with IKEA specifications. You will be in lead to act fast on any deviations.

Qualifications

Is this the challenge for you?

We are looking for:

  • Engineer with a University Degree in Chemicals/Polymers or similar work experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience within material development.
  • Experience in Plastic manufacturing, such as extrusion or injection molding is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Quality management systems & Tools.
  • Ability to lead projects across teams and functions.
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
