We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our site‑based Production Team. This role plays a key part in coordinating field operations to maximise daily production safely, efficiently, and in line with our environmental commitments. The position operates on a rotational basis and may be assigned to a specific asset or form part of the integrated “Fly Team” supporting the wider asset portfolio.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment
- Promote and reinforce strong HSE and Environmental Management System practices across daily production operations.
- Ensure all operational activities comply with Permit to Work requirements and the company’s HSE Management System.
- Act as a deputy On‑Scene Commander for emergency response teams and participate in scheduled HSE exercises.
Production Operations
- Maximise production, availability, and uptime of oil producing wells, water and gas injection wells, and associated field facilities.
- Ensure the technical integrity of all operational assets and equipment.
- Oversee routine activities such as pigging, scraping, and basic wellhead maintenance, including optimisation of execution plans.
- Ensure crude oil is processed, treated, and exported to defined specifications.
- Implement optimal well and process setups to meet oil production objectives while respecting flaring limitations.
- Champion daily operations alongside the well optimisation teams, subsurface teams, and asset planning groups, providing input for short‑ and long‑term production forecasts.
Production Surveillance & Data Management
- Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data capture across wells and facilities, including well test scheduling, surveillance, and QA/QC processes.
- Maintain high-quality inputs in production systems and databases to support operational decision‑making.
- Contribute to the daily production report by providing accurate operational information and, where required, preparing and issuing the full report.
Support to Drilling, Workovers & Maintenance
- Anticipate operational needs and support the execution of drilling and workover programmes, including well preparation and tie‑ins to production facilities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely and effective servicing of process equipment, including planning and organising major maintenance activities such as vessel opening and cleaning.
Procedures, Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
- Review, update, and create operational procedures as needed to reflect best practices and improve efficiency.
- Provide technical support to the field teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Requirements
- Technical degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s level) in Engineering from a recognised institution, with experience in field production operations.
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, or programming; well and subsurface awareness is beneficial.
- Strong command of PI (RTO), PI DataLink, and advanced Excel tools.
- Solid understanding of production optimisation principles; experience with Prosper is an advantage.
- High level of analytical ability combined with practical, solution‑focused thinking.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in French, both written and spoken
- Professional level in English, both written and spoken
