Job Description

The Production Engineer is responsible for defining, maintaining, and continuously improving production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability. The role focuses on process ownership, implementation of engineering methodologies, and supporting stable production while enabling yield, cycle time, and cost improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain production processes, process flows, and work instructions.
  • Define and implement production engineering methodologies to improve quality, yield, and efficiency.
  • Provide daily engineering support to production lines, including hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Lead root cause analysis for process-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, and cycle time optimization initiatives.
  • Support introduction of new products and processes in collaboration with NPI and R&D teams.
  • Define process parameters, control plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead process validation, qualification, and change management activities (ECO).
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements.
  • Support production ramp-up, line balancing, and capacity planning activities.
  • Work with Maintenance and Test Engineering to ensure equipment and test readiness.
  • Drive standardization and best practices across production lines.

Education & Experience

  • BSc in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Production Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

Production Engineering Methodologies

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with Six Sigma tools and data-driven process improvement.
  • Hands-on use of SPC, control charts, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience performing PFMEA and defining control plans.
  • Familiarity with standard work, line balancing, and takt time concepts.
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5W

Technical Skills

  • Ability to define and document production processes and specifications.
  • Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with process validation and qualification.
  • Familiarity with ECO and change management processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting NPI and production ramp-up.
  • Knowledge of automation, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience working in regulated or high-reliability manufacturing environments.

  • Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
