Summary of Duties and Responsibilities / Resumen de funciones y responsabilidades:

  • Define and execute the manufacturing strategy aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring operational capability, competitiveness, and sustainable business growth.
  • Lead the Production organization, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Establish the strategic direction and governance of manufacturing processes to ensure achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity targets.
  • Develop and manage the annual Manufacturing budget, including OPEX, CAPEX, labor, consumables, and strategic investments, ensuring optimal return on investment.
  • Ensure production plan attainment through effective management of resources, manufacturing capacity, and market requirements.
  • Drive operational transformation through Lean Manufacturing, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Digital Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce operating costs, improve asset utilization, and eliminate waste across the value stream.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory requirements, corporate procedures, and global quality standards.

Operational Leadership

  • Direct manufacturing, packaging, and production support operations to ensure product safety, quality, and on-time delivery to customers.
  • Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective and preventive actions to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead daily management processes and strategic operational reviews, including Daily Management, Compass Reviews, SPR, BR, PRC, CRB, and Staff Meetings.
  • Manage operational risks by proactively identifying deviations and implementing mitigation plans that ensure business continuity and achievement of results.
  • Ensure the integrity of Work-in-Process (WIP) inventories, material traceability, and financial control of manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure effective short-, mid-, and long-term production planning aligned with demand forecasts and business requirements.
  • Influence and support Industry 4.0 and AI tools into manufacturing to improve quality, safety, productivity, and cost across his area of responsibility.
  • People Leadership and Culture
  • Lead, develop, and strengthen high-performing teams through structured training, succession planning, coaching, and talent development programs.
  • Promote a culture of safety, engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement that enhances employee experience and organizational performance.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, define measurable objectives, and lead performance management and professional development processes.
  • Ensure the availability of critical talent through robust training, certification, and organizational capability-building initiatives.
  • Organizational Influence and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, IT, and Finance organizations to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams focused on complex problem-solving, product transfers, critical escalations, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Enable executive decision-making through data analysis, operational insights, and performance metrics.
  • Represent the Manufacturing function before senior leadership, effectively communicating risks, opportunities, and strategic improvement plans.
