We are looking to hire an Production Crew Leader - Blending immediately at our Maryland Manufacturing Center in Belcamp, MD.

This employee will act as a working Crew Leader, responsible for overseeing and leading daily operations with the ability to perform Operations technician job duties as needed. In addition, the employee will be responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring team members. The Crew Leader will ensure overall performance of the Operations Team to meet objectives for quality, safety, sanitation, GMPs, customer service, process reliability and will be involved in leading High Performance. Participates in cross functional problem-solving activities, updates, creates and audits S.O.P.s and recommends/provides process improvement solutions. The Crew Leader must be flexible and attentive to detail to work in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Distributes daily workload to fulfill department goals and requirements
  • Responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring team members to ensure individual and team success
  • Scheduling team vacations and arranging for manpower coverage
  • Daily communication with Supervisor and other Crew Leaders
  • Ensuring product meets quality standards
  • Facilitates and leads continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, lead, and empower team members in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
  • Investigates and communicates root cause analysis for failures, including recommendations and implementing solutions
  • Coordinate teamwork among team members
  • Leading meetings for production tracking, problem solving and team development
  • Building team member commitment
  • Lead plant safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment
  • Support and lead the growth of McCormick’s High-Performance Work System
  • Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Defense requirements according to McCormick and Regulatory Standards
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fork Truck Certification
  • Valid Driver’s license and transportation to travel between other McCormick Facilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
  • Ability to facilitate teamwork
  • Ability to effectively run meetings
  • Ability to work overtime / weekends as required.
  • Ability to train others required.
  • PAPR/Respirator use may be Required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of operations or related field experience
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • Thorough understanding of SAP preferred

Base Salary $28.12-$42.19

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick’s Dividend Program
