Job Title: Production Cook & Driver Location: Concord, NH Hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 37.5 Hours Per Week, Salary Description: $18.73/Hr.

A Day in the Life as a Production Cook & Driver:

As a Production Cook & Driver you’ll be responsible for working with the Cook to produce meals for the Senior Centers and Daycares that we provide for, along with driving the delivery truck to the centers, and assisting in the storage area by keeping inventory and organizing deliveries for next day.

Your day will involve:

  • Working with the Cook or Food Service Manager on food items that need to be prepared as the schedule of food production indicates.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal food code, including safe food handling practices and time and temperature control.
  • Cross trains in kitchen to support stock clerk, or cooks to keep daily routines moving to be able to cover other positions and assignments.
  • Packs delivery truck and delivers to centers based on schedule and as needed.
  • Support the growth of CAPBM Elder Services through Fundraising and Catered Events outside our daily scope of business.

Your role will directly contribute to a positive participant experience.

Requirements

Qualifications to Be a Production Cook & Driver:

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency credential.
  • Experience: One (1) year of experience with cooking for seniors and/or frail population, including quantity cooking.
  • Skills: Professionalism when interacting with health officials and managers. Effective communication and team building skills.
  • Characteristics: Polite and courteous manner when dealing with participants
  • Technical: Current Food Safety certification and acceptance by Agency and Successful completion of criminal record check.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required, as some travel within the community may be necessary.

About COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM BELKNAP- MERRIMACK COUNTIES

The Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. (CAPBMCI, CAPBM, CAP-BM, BMCAP) is a New Hampshire-based 501(c)(3) private, nonprofit organization. The agency was established in 1965 under the provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act of 1964. Under this Act, over twelve hundred Community Action Agencies (CAA) were established nationwide.

The primary mission of the organization is to work with low-income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities to assist them in their efforts to become or remain financially and socially independent. The Agency accomplished this task by providing a broad array of services that are locally defined, planned, and managed.

The agency sponsors and manages seventy-three (73) programs designed to meet the needs of children, families, single parents, and the elderly. Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food and shelter.

The agency is funded by Federal, State, county, and local funds (37 cities and towns in Belknap and Merrimack Counties). The agency receives United Way grants, foundation and charitable grant funds, fees for service, private business donations, and donations from individuals.
