Support the Supply Chain Manager by providing input to the manufacturing forecast through the determination of order ship dates based on available materials, labor, capacity, and customer requirements. Assist in scheduling manufacturing work centers to optimize on-time delivery performance, maximize factory throughput, and minimize operational inefficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager in organizing and maintaining production schedules for assigned work centers.
  • Schedule and maintain assigned manufacturing work centers to support production requirements.
  • Analyze workload and production demands to assist Production Supervisors in determining staffing requirements.
  • Partner daily with manufacturing leadership to review schedule compliance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Respond to production floor feedback regarding schedule changes that reduce setup times, improve material usage, maximize run efficiency, and increase throughput.
  • Review long-term capacity constraints and work with Manufacturing to resolve raw material and production issues.
  • Interface with Inside Sales, as needed, to provide order status updates and support lead-time adjustments for critical customer requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels, including stock products, customer-specific inventory, crib stock singles, and repeat-use raw materials to ensure timely material availability.
  • Support month-end manufacturing and shipping activities, helping coordinate efforts to achieve financial and operational objectives.
  • Promote workplace organization through the application of 5S and 80/20 principles.
  • Support and monitor safe work practices throughout all operational areas.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or APICS certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production Planning and Scheduling within a job shop manufacturing environment.
  • Wire and cable industry experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency with Decision Support Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and MRP systems.
  • Ability to effectively balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to negotiate, compromise, and adapt to changing business objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours when business needs require.
  • Ability to perform work in a primarily sedentary environment involving extended periods of sitting, computer use, and repetitive motion activities.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing personnel in a production environment that may be noisy.
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when onsite.
