Job Description

As a Production Control Lead, you are a critical link between planning and manufacturing, responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of production schedules and alignment with engineering and supply chain objectives. You play a key role in driving high-quality, on-time delivery by managing production flow processes across programs. Through close collaboration with the program, design team, procurement, and manufacturing teams, you help ensure the smooth introduction and movement of both new and existing products throughout the production lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Independently Lead a team and manage employee performance and behaviors

  • Understand the programs resources and their skillsets to best utilize the team to achieve a high execution rate and to build a quality product

  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules based on the IMS and coordinate the flow of materials using Costpoint Manufacturing Orders

  • Create a Manufacturing Order structure that is based on the IMS to communicate percent complete to the customer on a weekly basis

  • Track issues and returns for nonconforming hardware and verify returned products will arrive back on site and not impact production

  • Schedule weekly and Monthly resource usage of personnel to execute production needs that align with the IMS

  • Track Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) shortages and understand any impacts or adjustments to the production floor if needed

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment

  • Ensure production activities comply with organizational policies, safety regulations, and quality standards

  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements

  • Lead and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

  • Participate and assist with ISO 9001 audits and 6S audits as necessary

  • Ensure customer on time delivery and drive a zero-defect quality culture

Basic Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Technology and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Knowledge of planning scheduling and activities

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both in writing and verbally, to a wide range of audiences

  • Ability to solve complex problems, often with limited information and guidance

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Technology and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Prior experience with the manufacturing of capital, security, aerospace, or maritime related products.

  • 2+ years’ experience leading manufacturing teams or projects

  • A background in traditional manufacturing process tools including Costpoint or other ERP applications, Windchill PLM applications, and Solumina MES applications

  • Possess one of the following certifications: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of ISO 9001

The successful applicant will become part of a world class team that is a recognized leader in maritime systems development and will support production of advanced electronic systems for the Department of Defense.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
