Job Description
The Production Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and traceability of production data, acting as the technical authority for hydrocarbon accounting, allocation, reconciliation, and reporting across offshore facilities. Working closely with metering, subsurface, finance, and commercial teams, the role will guarantee reliable calculation and reporting of oil, gas, water, and associated fluids, while driving continuous improvement of accounting systems, data quality, and best practice.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate hydrocarbon accounting for oil, gas, water, and associated fluids, including production allocation, reconciliation, inventory management, ullage calculations, and custody transfer, as well as injection, waste, and emissions, performed within internal and industry standards with due diligence, analysis, and data validation.
- Work closely with Metering, Subsurface, and Facilities teams to review production data and uncertainties, address measurement and reconciliation discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Perform, validate, and approve daily, monthly, and annual production reconciliations between metering systems, tank inventories, export measurements, and allocation calculations prior to regulatory and internal reporting.
- Support the classification and allocation of production deferment or losses according to internal guidelines.
- Review, maintain, and improve all hydrocarbon and fluids accounting processes, reporting routines, data acquisition, models, and methodologies, ensuring accurate distribution of production volumes and compliance with internal, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the integrity and reliability of production accounting data, systems, and processes, ensuring full traceability and auditability of all reported figures.
- Participate in operational reviews and provide production accounting input to support operational decision making.
- Act as the technical focal point for production control and hydrocarbon accounting matters within the organization.
- Support regulatory audits, inspections, and data requests related to production and other fluids accounting.
- Prepare, validate, and submit mandatory monthly and annual production reports to the Brazilian regulatory authority (ANP).
- Support the implementation and maintenance of production accounting tools and data analytics platforms.
- Promote automation and digitalization initiatives related to production data management and reporting.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in any field of Engineering
Experience:
- Experience in this position in the Oil and Gas industry.
Knowledge:
- Familiar with metering regulation and best industry standards such as ANP, RTM, API, SOX
- Experience in hydrocarbon accounting and production data management
- Good understanding and knowledge of FPSO marine & process systems
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SQL
- Knowledge in Hydrocarbon Accounting Tools (such as Energy Components, EnergySys, PDM)
