The Global Raw Material Team is looking for a dedicated and driven individual to join the Alo family. The raw material production colorist will bring expertise in color, production, and collaboration with cross functional teams. The ideal candidate will have color and production experience, with a background in textiles and garment production. This role will be responsible for tracking and reviewing bulk color production. This role must be well organized and detailed oriented to help meet deadlines and problem solve.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review of all production shipment samples, color fastness test reports ensuring color consistency within all lots and ensure color consistency with multiple suppliers for garments, collections, and sets
  • Communicate and troubleshoot color comments to suppliers, vendors, and sgs using standard color commenting language in a timely manner (24-72 hours)
  • Track and follow up on lab dip and bulk shipment samples to support T&A and deadlines
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and communicate color status, risks, and solutions/recommendations
  • Manage and organize the physical and digital color standard library, including maintaing color continuity binders
  • Advise on achievability of specific colors and dye methods and identify limitations for certain developments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in apparel product; preferably in production and color. Must have color/fabric knowledge.
  • Experience of 2-4 years in Color role or relevant role.
  • Knowledge of dyes, dyeing techniques, and printing techniques for a variety of fiber contents and fabric structures.
  • Knowledge of textile structures and their influence on color appearance; knowledge of industry/fabric/color/testing standards.
  • Proficiency in PC/MAC, Microsoft Word, Excel and PLM.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (technically and non technically).
  • Capability to be a self starter, think outside the box and troubleshoot independently.
  • Highly organized, ability to prioritize and attention to detail required.
  • Personable, team player and troubleshoot under tight time constraints.
  • Understanding of visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures with accurate and consistent technique: ability to use light box and Datacolor
  • Ability to differentiate/analyze color accurately and consistently to describe color differences.
  • Effectively communicate technical information with other functions that are non-technical.
  • Willingness to travel between BH and Commerce or to our suppliers as needed
  • Superior results on Munsell HUE 100 test, ideally cannot miss more than 2.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
