About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Production Build Support contractor to help us build and ship robotic crawlers, drones, and payloads. You'll work onsite alongside our hardware team, keeping the build workspace organized and stocked, assembling and validating units, and making sure our build procedures are documented and repeatable.

This is a practical, floor-level role for someone who is comfortable with a soldering iron, a crimp tool, and a parts bin — and who takes pride in doing things consistently and writing down how they were done.

What You'll Do

• Support builds of robotic crawlers, drones, and payloads
• Manage inventory and the build workspace, ensuring we have the parts and tools needed
• Follow, create, and update build procedures, ensuring builds are standardized
• Create electrical harnesses for power and data
• Provision electronics and conduct hardware/software validation tests following provided instructions
• Document build progress and deviations
• Communicate status on build progress and any issues encountered

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience assembling electromechanical hardware, ideally in a production or prototype environment
• Comfort with wiring and harnessing: crimping, soldering, connector assembly, continuity checks
• Ability to follow detailed build and test procedures precisely, and to improve them where they're unclear
• Clear written communication for build documentation and status updates
• Available onsite for the duration of the contract

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with drones, robotics, or other mobile hardware platforms
• Familiarity with basic test equipment (multimeter, bench supply, oscilloscope)
• Exposure to firmware flashing or hardware/software validation workflows

Details:

• Contract engagement, 3–6 months, with schedule (3–5 days per week) to be agreed at offer
• Onsite in our Austin office

This role has an hour rate of $32.00 USD/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and skills.
